We made a survey with in the Uganda football fan base to find out the best 11 players that lit up the league. Basing on their opinions, these was the most mentioned names. This team is majorly occupied by the three top clubs of the season in vipers SC, KCCA and SC Villa

Charles Lukwago, goalkeeper (KCCA)

With over 10 clean sheets, Lukwago was worth a mention.

With great reflexes and good passing skills is one of the best goalkeepers the Uganda super league has ever witnessed. He made crucial saves that won KCCA games and points. He is one of the reasons as to why KCCA was kept in the title race till the last day of the league.

Mustafa Kizza (KCCA)-left back

A marauding wing back who is good at both defending and attacking and made over 10 assists in the games he played.

He is such a promising talent and it is high time he made the national team left back position his own. he is no doubt the best left back in the country.

Timothy Awany (KCCA)-centre back

Ever since he was given the captain armband, he has grown into a very dependable player in the back line of KCCA.

He is solid, combative and also intelligent. He is a nightmare to every striker in the league. No one would love to face him on his good day. His consistence, this season comes second to none.

Henry Katongole (SC Villa)-centre back

He is the reason as to why SC Villa conceded the fewest goal in the league. His ability to read the game and also to start play makes him take a slack in fans’ team. This season, he has been formidable and sc villa has been a title contender till the last games when they fell short.

Nicholas Wadada (Vipers SC)-right back

A great leader in the title winning team of Vipers sc. He has been flying at the right flank of the pitch and a major source of assists in the free scoring team of vipers.

Moses Waisswa (Viper SC)-central midfield

Arguably the full gifted player in the Uganda super league.  This season has shown why his academy coaches are fond of him. He is intelligent, skillful and his passing prowess in the league comes second to none in the league. He makes football look easy as he bosses around the midfield. Most fans call him the Ugandan Andres Iniesta.

Taddeo Lwanga (Vipers SC)-central midfield

The biggest bargain of the season. He was recruit from villa at the start of the season.

He fitted in so well in the viper team and when you see him play in his team, you might think that he has been there for ages. He is such a great player who you would pay your money to watch at any day. He is a natural leader and for that he was rewarded with the deputy captain role in the viper team.

Milton Karisa (Vipers SC)- right midfield

Twelve league goals from the wings is no mean feat. Karisa embodied Vipers’ fighting spirit even when he shone less in the big games.

He complimented Dan Sserunkuma in attack and gave the coaches that much needed plan B.

Alan Okello (KCCA)- left midfield

The best U-20 player in Uganda. He has a European style of play that is rarely found in the league. He is the star to be.

He has less game time in the KCCA side but whenever he came, he impacted games for instance the well taken free kick he scored against villa that decided the game when he came almost a quarter an hour left to play. He plays in so many attacking positions and the number ten position is his best but this time he gets to the flanks of the attack in the team of the season.

Nelson Senkatuka (Bright Stars)-striker

A KCCA and Proline reject and also plied his trade in Netherlands but failed to get his A game.

However, when he signed for bright stars this season, he found his goal scoring touch by netting 15 goals in the season. He has been so prolific in front of goal. He has terrorized very almost every defence in the league. What a player he has been. He fell short to win the top scorer prize as he struggled in the last but that does not deprive him of having a wonderful season and being in the fans’ team of the season.

Daniel Sserunkuma (Vipers SC)-striker

The top scorer of the season and no one is better than him in the business.
